Trying New Things

My sister-in-law got the Taste of Home grilling book for Nick for his birthday and, no joke, we have cooked out of it every night since then. Nick posted a picture of our dinner two nights ago on facebook, it was homemade BBQ chicken pizza... TO DIE FOR! And last night I made a vegetarian version of Chiles Rellonos, equally as amazing. We use the grill for everything in the summer, rain or shine, and it is well worth every minute of preparation! Upon request from Malissa here is the pizza recipe and I decided to throw in the Chiles Rellenos too!
The great thing about the pizza recipe is that it would be extremely simple to modify. Next time we try it, I am going to try to find a home-made dough recipe and topping ideas are limitless. I am thinking my own rendition of the Toasted Frogs Chicken Pesto Pizza...yumm! Tonight we are trying Apple 'n Pork burgers with corn on the cob, but instead of pork we are trying it with ground turkey....I will keep you posted:) And by the looks of it Nick is going to have to wear a rain poncho while tending to the burgers.

Aside from our new and exciting grilling endeavors, Nick and I have been getting good use out of our new jogger. The area around where we live is beautiful. Just this morning we went for a 2-3 mile walk/jog (with a soft j) and saw a deer. The girls LOVED it. It was amazing. We feel so blessed to be able to have these types of experiences as a family. Yesterday we wanted to do something fun as a family before the girls and I head up for G.F. on Friday, so we decided to go up to the MOA and ride some coasters. Dairy Queen had $10.00 coupons for a 50 point pass, so we even got an awesome deal. Madelyn had so much fun. She went on the Orange Stream 3 times and even went down the Log Ride. Nick and I were so proud of her! It was cool because the both of the girls are too short to ride without a chaperon and required chaperons get to ride for free, so none of the points were wasted on Nick and I. We totally got our moneys worth!

I am really looking forward to this week. Thursday we are meeting up with friend, downtown Northfield and Friday am we take off for Grandma and Poopah's house for the week. I am going up for the first two farmers markets and training in my mom, who will be replacing me as market manager. It should be a blast! Although it is a little bitter sweet... we don't get to spend Father's day with Nick:( But we will be think about him and thinking of our fun rollercoaster day of fun.
